Dream, Dream, Dream
Do
you have a dream?
Childhood days found me sitting in front of the
TV on January 1, watching the Rose Parade. The tradition continues
with my children. I
dreamed of being right there, smelling the flowers and sitting in
the very spot where the floats and bands perform. Imagine those
huge floats made entirely from seeds and fresh flowers! Every year
I would exclaim, “Someday I am going to see the Rose Parade
in Pasadena.”
With
great secrecy, my husband surprised me with a trip to the Rose Parade
a few years ago. You see, January 1, is my birthday. Excited and
happy, I really was going to the Rose Parade!
Arriving
several days early, we had the opportunity to visit the warehouse
where the floats were being created. Stunned at the entrance, and
with a pounding heart, all I could do was stop and stare at the
magnificence and cry. The sweet smell of roses filled the air. I
felt deeply the beauty before my eyes. The floats were bigger than
one could ever imagine and every detail was perfect. The parade
theme that year was “DREAMS”, and my dream had come
true.
On
parade day, excitement was everywhere and we arrived very early.
Imagine my surprise and joy to find our reserved seats just beneath
the NBC Booth and all the floats and bands stopped right in front
to perform. This was the dream I had envisioned for so many years.
Writing
about it brings back the feelings of wonder and awe of the Rose
Parade. The memory is vivid. I now know to dream by day and by night
and to believe that dreams do come true.
Write
down your dream.
Speak
it aloud to someone.
Believe.
Dreams do come true.
Call me and together we will make your dream a reality.
