Do Your Best!
Coach Wooden, UCLA’s Basketball Coach from 1948-1975, has a renowned reputation for coaching great basketball. His team won 10 National Championships, 7 in a row; as well as 4 perfect seasons, an 88 game winning streak and 38 tournament victories.
Some of his records may stand forever according to sports writers. He had high standards for his team and still believes that winning is a result of excellent preparation. He claims that organizing basketball practice was his greatest strength; winning, a by product.
His ‘Pyramid of Success’ is a visual tool, and the basis of his books on leaders and leadership. One of his books is a children’s book, Inch and Miles, the Journey to Success. Inch is a worm and Miles, a mouse. They travel together visiting other animals in a quest to know the meaning of success. Each animal gives them one building block for the pyramid. At the end, they discover that success is being the best you can be.
Coach Wooden is the first person to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as a player and a coach. I call that success.
Call me to get coached on the steps necessary to be the best you can be.
