Life Transitions Newsletter

January 5, 2009Follow ThroughTwo of my latest newsletters have been about clearing clutter: having a garage sale and being motivated to have a neat desk every day. Now, I report to you that I followed through on getting rid of a lot of clutter and have kept my inbox up-to-date! I had compelling reasons to get these projects done: I had already arranged for a painter to paint the garage, and I had friends coming to visit. My challenge was to overcome the tricks my mind plays to convince me that my intentions can be put off; there are easier things to do; thousands of excuses and sometimes I am just plain lazy. We all fall prey to these mind tricks. The key is to follow through consistently with the most compelling reason of all – success – as your motivator. Following through is much more than getting one job done. It is a mindset to do what needs to be done when it ought to be done. Setting good intentions is one part; consistently acting on that intention is another; and being aware of your satisfaction about life is another. How does it feel when you have met your intention or completed a job? Opportunity is often seen in hindsight. Change that scene. When opportunity knocks, open the door!!
With the world turning so fast, we want opportunities for focusing on what is best for us. Susan is offering a “Create a New Life” teleforum starting January 14, 2009. Join the group to realize new passion and meaning in your life. Warm Regards, Susan Hayman |
