Commitment
Since moving to Oxford, MS six months ago, I have been committed to expanding the Life Coaching profession in Mississippi. I contacted the International Coach Federation (ICF) members throughout the state and started a monthly conference call. Through this call the coaches have connected to each other and to coaches in Memphis, TN and Birmingham, AL.
During the week of February 7-13, 2010, ICF is promoting International Coaching Week, a designated time for coaches and clients to educate the general public about the value of working with a professional coach and to acknowledge the results and progress made through the coaching process. The Mississippi Coaches volunteered to do one month pro-bono coaching during this time.
As a speech judge for the annual “Speaker’s Edge” MBA student competition at University of Mississippi, I realized these students could benefit greatly from Life Coaching. They are big thinkers, have great aspirations and are ready to move forward; all characteristics for successful coaching.
We have a match! I connected the MBA students with the coaches, wrote a press release for local newspapers and brought my dream for an active ICF Chapter in Mississippi closer.
Coaching Questions:
- What are you committed to now?
- How can you bridge the gap from where you are to where you want to be?
- Describe the action steps necessary to bring you closer to your dream.
Now you are ready for Life Coaching. Call me.
Warm Regards,
